The Story

The Militarism Revival pits Alan Tang as Mr. Tong against a Japanese group headed by the evil Mr.Yamamoto. The two rivals are shown in the picture above.

The plot revolves around Yamamoto trying to acquire an old orphange where a secret chamber hides documents showing that bacterial experiments were run on Chinese prisoners during WWII. Yamamoto has been ordered by his boss in Japan to destroy this evidence. Tang as a wealthy Chinese businessman, is involved in the Hong Kong Orphanage Project. In earlier times both he and his lost sister lived there. This brings Tang into direct conflict with Yamamoto who orders him killed.

The Japanese person assigned to kill Tang is also a very good friend of his which makes things interesting. Also, a lady claiming to be Tang's sister shows up with her young daughter. In addition, there are several conflicts between the Chinese students and the Japanese when the students accuse the Japanese of rewriting history. Note:this theme of outsiders rewriting Chinese history occurs in many of Alan Tang's films.

Most of the fighting in this film is with swords and is quite good. There are secret samurai meetings including two involving ritual suicide. WWII newpapers and documents are used to link the past evil conduct of the Japanese with the present. There is a great deal of treachery as the plot resolves itself including a very exciting showdown between Tang as Tong and Yamamoto.
