The Story

Alan Tang plays a famous soccer coach who comes down with the flu. He goes to a clinic for help and meets Brigitte Lin who is a doctor. He is immediately taken with her and asks her out. She rebuffs his advances and refuses to attend his 25th birthday party. When Tang is sad at his party, his friends get the idea to fake a call to Doctor Fong (Lin). She comes and, although annoyed by the trick, stays. Lin and Tang then fall in love and things go smoothly for a while.

A female friend of Tang's convinces him to pretend to be her fiancee. When Tang reluctantly does so, Lin accidently happens on to the scene and overhears that Tang is going to marry the other girl. Tang tries to explain the situation to her but she won't listen. This leads Tang to try suggestions made in a newspaper column on how to act with girls. These suggestions include being macho, clinging, suffering, etc. None of these work with Lin.

Lin's brother has a girlfriend who is picked by Tang to be a model for an agency. This becomes complicated when the agency tries to make the girl model underwear. Both Tang and Lin independently try to help her get out of her modeling contract. This gets Tang in trouble again when Lin visits the modeling office and finds Tang with the attractive lady owner.

WARNING CONCLUSION:Tang and Lin have another major misunderstanding when Tang discovers Lin with an older man and slaps her. The romance seems to be over until Tang discovers the man with Lin was actually her editor. Surprise: it turns out that Lin is actually the person who writes the lovers column that Tang had been following. Tang has an accident on his motorcycle as he goes to apologize to Lin. This time he really needs a doctor and Brigitte Lin as Dr. Fong is persuaded to go and help. They reconcile and seem on the road to happiness.
