The Unsubdued Furies

In the Unsubdued Furies Alan Tang is in Kung Fu action mode fighting evil Japanese who have tricked the Chinese. There is a complication, however, in that his girlfriend is Japanese. Not only is she a Japanese but an outstanding martial artist who rescues Tang several times during the movie.

The Story

Alan Tang, a Chinese kid, returns to his family home to find that both his mother and father have died as a result of the Japanese takeover of the town. The Japanese have tricked the villagers into thinking they were gold mining when in reality they were after tungsten for use in war weapons. Tang finds the villagers are virtual slaves and engages in several Kung Fu fights with their Japanese oppressors.

Tang encourages the Chinese to rebel and starts to organize an insurrection when he himself is captured and beaten. He is taken to a hospital run by his former Japanese lover. She is very good to the Chinese miners even though her brother is now incharge of the tungsten mine. The sister originally came to the village with her brother in the hopes of finding Tang, her lost Chinese lover. The two were parted earlier after the brother convinced Tang to leave her because he was a Chinese and not suitable for his sister.

The brother is replaced as the leader of the mining operation by another truly evil man who then forces the brother to become his assistant. The new Japanese leader rapes a nurse at the hospital and tries to attack Tang's girlfriend as well. This forces her brother to side with the Chinese.

WARNING CONCLUSION: Tang and his lover are reunited after she rescues him. They form a plan to prevent the Japanese from moving the tungsten, which involves blowing up the trucks carrying the material. Prior to this, the evil leader forces the miners into the mine and tries to blow them up. His plan is prevented when the nurse he raped grabs the explosives and commits the ultimate sacrifice.

In the final showdown, Tang, his girlfriend and her brother all battle the evil leader. The Japanese leader is killed and the tungsten shipment disrupted by the Chinese miners. The brother dies but not before confessing to his sister that their mother was Chinese. He asks Tang to take care of his sister.
