The Story

Alan Tang and his new fiance, Keet Ming, arrive in Hong Kong from the USA to prepare for their wedding. Tang's home has been maintained in his absence by a caretaker and the caretaker's crippled sister. Of particular note about Tang's house is a room where a painting and the possessions of Tang's former fiance, Hiong Yee, are kept.

Almost immediately Tang's dead fiance makes her presence felt by attacking his new love. Things fall, strange noises are heard and Tang begins to act strangely. The former fiance enters the body of the caretakers crippled sister and talks to Tang. She even manages to show up in the engagement pictures of the couple.

Tang's dead lover's unrest is explained in part by the fact that as she was dying in a car accident, Tang promised to love her always. Since he was the driver, Tang feels quilty about her death.

Tang locks himself in Hiong Yee's room, plays old movies and tries to make contact with her. She eventually materializes and the two embrace.

WARNING CONCLUSION: Tang's new fiance and the caretaker try to get Tang out of the room and away from the his dead lover. The old and new fiances confront each other. His new girl friend runs away and drives off in a car. Tang follows her in another car. Meanwhile the dead lover takes control of the new lover's car and heads her toward a cliff. Tang pleads with his dead lover not to hurt his new fiance, she heeds him and stops the car. There is a brief romantic interlude between Tang and his current fiance. Tang then sees his dead lover waiting for him in his car. He goes to her and together they go over the cliff.
